Mucolytic to facilitate expectoration.

• Child 2–4 years: 62.5–125 mg, 4 times daily
• Child 5–11 years: 250 mg, 3 times daily
• Over 12 years: initially 2.25 g daily in divided doses, then 1.5 g daily in divided doses as condition improves.

Non-sedating antihistamine.

Seasonal allergic rhinitis
• Child 6–11 years: 30 mg, twice daily.
• Over 12 years: 120 mg, once daily.
Chronic idiopathic urticaria
• Over 12 years: 180 mg, once daily.
